How it all began

Our first Cairn trio

In the beginning there was the wish to own a dog. But a dog of what race? He should be small sized, trustworthy with children, a bundle of energy without being highly strung, sturdy and healthy, quite a personality of a dog. A dog who is not found round each corner, a dog who is "keeping all four paws firmly on the ground".
So, what sort of a dog should it be? Well, of course, a Cairn Terrier!
Thus, step by step, the first Cairn Terriers moved into our home. Our "Cairnies", as we call them, grew up to be splendid dogs. At the request of our dogs' breeder we exhibited them in shows where we had much success. Later on, the breeder recommended to also try and have a litter.

Dog Personalities

This idea seemed tempting to us, all the more so since our Cairnies were giving our family great pleasure.
Why shouldn't we share our pleasure with others?
But which kennel name should we select for our litters? It’s very simple:
"Cairn" - for Cairn Terrier and "Bries" - for Brieske forms in combination "Cairn-Bries", since 1982.
Our kennel name is KFT/VDH- registered and worldwide FCI- registered.

Finally it became true, the first "Cairn Bries" puppies were born.

My efficacious helpers

Cairn Bries Atiko und Aero were sold to friends of ours who were also breeders and successfully bred with them.

Our children had so much fun with our pack of rascals since our puppies were so charming. Feeding and walking them was carried out with devotion and they always accompanied us to the shows.

Most of all I would like to also sleep here, but it is unfortunately not my bed.

In the following year our B litter was born: Cairn Bries Borstel, Bastian and Bijou.
Cairn Bries Bijou stayed with us, she was a "top reproducer" and a super show dog, a dog of top quality! If you look up the pedigrees, you will find her in almost all our dogs.

Over the years, our breeding activity developed into a successful Cairn kennel.
An honest cooperation with other breeders is essential for us.

Despite all success, the sound health and the gay temperament of the breed is for us of prime importance so that our motto can be maintained:

ONCE A CAIRN MEANS A CAIRN FOR LIFE !
